This is where Deneen notes the“ perception of cyber” has changed within critical infrastructure and especially so in aviation.
“ We’ re not just securing the infrastructure and the systems technology. We’ re helping the airline understand and manage digital risk across our operations and really enabling us to get things done and get those outcomes in a secure and safe and trusted manner,” Deneen says.
No tolerance for downtime: What keeps a CISO up? When asked what risks keep her up at night, Deneen jokes that she is not a great sleeper anyway.
“ The responsibility of protecting critical infrastructure is immense,” she elaborates.“ It’ s really trying to get a collective ecosystem risk response and activation across what we need to do.” Though mobilising such a collective response comes with a side of challenges, Deneen stresses that this also brings a unique opportunity – one where the strengths of all partners can be leveraged.“ We’ re stronger together that way,” Deneen says.
