A heavyweight adversary has entered the cyber threat arena. Researchers at Sysdig recently documented the first ever case of agentic ransomware – fully-automated and deployed end to end by large language models.
Labelled JADEPUFFER, it brings with it a new class of threat: agentic threat actors, capable of adapting and switching tactics when they meet real-world resistance.
Not long after, the data processing pipeline of Hugging Face, one of the most widely-used, open-source AI collaboration platforms, was breached by yet another AI agent – further demonstrating that we have entered the era of agentic attackers.
