CYBERSECURITY
Quantum System Two computer
IBM efforts led by organisations such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology( NIST) are indicators of preparation as the industry braces for the quantum wave.
Like with any new technology that the industry adopts – or in this case, is forced to adopt – there is potential to be uncovered on how this novel field may add value to the business.
Institutions are actively engaging in quantum research partnerships and pilot programmes to better capitalise on both the offensive and defensive applications of quantum systems.
While sowing cryptographic disruption, quantum technologies also present opportunities for strengthening security monitoring, anomaly detection and risk modelling.
Quantum-inspired algorithms and hybrid systems are already being explored for their potential to enhance fraud detection and improve the speed and accuracy of threat analysis in complex financial environments.
