Picture yourself in the cyber battlefield. On one side are the enterprises and on the other are the deeply organised, highly industrialised agents of chaos – the evasive adversaries, state sponsored threat actors and cybercriminals of all flavour. Lodged firmly in the middle, helping to secure the frontlines and scope out the big moves of the enemies is the line of cyber deterrence, erected by security firms like CrowdStrike. Analysing trillions of events in a day, CrowdStrike feeds back valuable intelligence into its Falcon platform to stop adversaries in their tracks. Yet, there is cause for concern when it comes to the one thing that everyone can’ t stop talking about – AI.
“ We are learning what the art of the possible is with AI,” says Zeki Turedi, CrowdStrike’ s Field Chief Technology Officer for Europe.“ And we are learning this the hard way, as our 2026 Threat Hunting Report flags an 89 % surge in AI-enabled adversary activity from 2025.”
“ The threat actors out there today are not fully autonomous, but they’ re harnessing AI to make themselves more efficient,” Zeki points out. Though this fully autonomous adversary is not the biggest threat today, according to him, the key learning is that“ organisations need to be prepared for everything”. And this includes, what he calls the“ attacks of the future”.
