AI attack map The risks from AI hit enterprises hard when the deluge of AI-discovered vulnerabilities started piling up and the industry asked“ What if every day is patch Tuesday?”. Jason calls this an interesting time in cybersecurity, as organisations are trying to automate patching and weighing the move from detection to preemptive security.
“ Organisations have to be able to build an inventory of the attack surface that they have,” he says.“ This includes cloud assets, identities, operational technologies, business IT – Oh, by the way, AI is also part of the attack surface. You have to analyse and look for toxic combinations, vulnerabilities, misconfigurations and you have to prioritise those and then you have to use AI to do the automation.

Jason stresses the need to discover shadow AI, for which Tenable has a tool called AI Aware.
“ I’ ll give you a great example,” he says.“ We have an organisation, a customer that found 12 OpenClaw workloads running in their cloud environment. OpenClaw is an agentic framework. And these OpenClaw instances, the 12 of them have access to API keys, source code and GitHub repo.
