Why it may‘ always get worse’ So much happens in cyber every day. Ransomware, data breach, espionage, attacks on infrastructure probing geopolitical weaknesses and so goes the never-ending list. But the truth is we don’ t know what the future holds, but if we do take a look back at the path we have already traversed, the cause for optimism is slim.
“ I say this every year, but the reality is, it is always going to get
worse, unfortunately,” Zeki remarks.“ We are seeing that cybercrime is highly effective. We are seeing more and more criminal organisations come out. And again, we are seeing with the use of AI that the barrier to entry is lowered. We said the exact same thing when things like ransomware as a service became available, but AI usage lowers it considerably because a lot of these criminal groups can now build their own tools and capabilities.”
